Success Stories
Two Dogs Find a New HomePet Name: Kadie and Rocky Kadie and Rocky, are both rescues from Giles County Animal Shelter. Kadie is probably half chocolate lab and half pit bull. Rocky is pure pit bull. Kadie was adopted in May 2009 and Rocky in March 2010. Both were undernourished with poor skin condition when adopted but responded quickly to proper nutrition and vetting. They are neutered and micro-chipped. They are the most loving and laid back dogs. Kadie likes nothing better than to roll over on her back for a tummy scratch. Rocky wags his tail so hard, his whole body shakes. He too is sweet and even tempered. They get along well with the other pets in our house, three cats and another dog, Buddy ( a rescue from Pulaski County Animal Shelter). We hope to get Kadie and Rocky certified as visitation dogs to nursing homes and hospitals. These two are so calm and sweet we would like to share them with others and promote a positive impression of their breed. |
Black Cat gets out and moves up to the big timePet Name: Reeboc This is one of the cats GCAR managed to move out of the shelter before his time was up; we took him to a rescue that could find him a good home. His new owner, George, wrote to us to let us know this kitty now lives on the 11th floor of a high rise condo, and he will never have anything but good dreams from now on. He is adjusting well and learning to "make do with feather toys and stuffed mice laced with catnip". "Thanks again for saving him." Thank you George for the wonderful update on Reebox. It is great to hear. We rarely get any follow up once we transport the animals to Lost Dog Rescue for adoption. Your letter really up-lifted our hearts. If you have a success story, we would love to hear it. gilescountyanimalrescue@gmail.com. |
